What is the difference between DOT and Non-DOT drug testing?
- DOT (Department of Transportation) drug testing is required for safety-sensitive employees in industries such as transportation, including truck drivers, pilots, and others regulated by the DOT. It follows strict guidelines and includes specifi c tests such as urine testing and laboratory confi rmation.
- Non-DOT testing applies to all other employees who are not subject to DOT regulations. It typically is used to identify as many as 24 different drugs and can include tests such as oral fl uid and hair follicle testing.

What happens if an employee fails a drug test?
If an employee fails a drug test, the sample will be sent to our certified Lab and Medical Review Officer (MRO) for confirmation and further verifi cation. The MRO will review the results, and if necessary, reach out to the employee for additional information.Additionally, if an employee is located outside of our local area, we can arrange for them to visit one of our lab partners across the United States for both initial testing and confirmation in case of a failed test. This ensures consistent and reliable results nationwide.

We work with accredited, certifi ed laboratories that adhere to the highest standards of testing, including SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) certifi cation for DOT and Non-DOT testing. Our lab partners ensure accurate and reliable results.
